Hamilton is a partner in our San Diego office. His practice involves protection of intellectual property and the creation of intellectual property strategies in the electronics, computer, communication, software and IT industries. Mr. Hamilton has assisted numerous clients, including start-ups and established corporations, in developing and carrying out successful strategies for protecting and exploiting their intellectual property rights, and for otherwise maximizing the value that property provides to the client in both defensive and offensive circumstances. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hamilton was a patent lawyer with a general practice firm. Prior to law school, he was a Senior Engineer with Utah Power and Light Company, where he was responsible for design and computer simulation of the high voltage transmission system and the interface of that system with power sources and systems of other companies. Mr. Hamilton also was an electrical engineer with Busch Terracon Corporation. He has been a registered professional engineer in the states of Utah, California, Colorado and Wyoming.
