Job Title: Docketing Agent Supervisor’s Title: Docketing Supervisor, SD Office Administrator Status: Non-Exempt Location: San Diego - this position depends upon the ability of the employee to work closely with attorneys and staff members during regularly scheduled hours.
General Summary: Responsible for docketing Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights. This position requires the ability to work overtime, which often cannot be predicted in advance.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Receive U.S. mail for SD cases from OC docketing. 1.1. Following established procedures, prepare form letters relating to SD cases for U.S. and international patent and trademark matters.
2. Process outgoing filings. 2.1. Provide quality control of outgoing Patent, Trademark and Copyright documents following established procedure. 2.2. Update the applicable docketing system.
3. Audit Trail Check of outgoing filings.
4. Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor. 4.1. Provide back-up assistance to other Docketing Agents and Clerks when applicable.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Ability to read and retrieve information necessary for docketing dates. 2. Ability to pay close attention to details, particularly numbers. 3. Effective organizational and communication skills. 4. Ability to work autonomously and complete daily tasks without constant supervision. 5. Strong ability to continually prioritize ever changing workload. 6. Ability to operate office machines including personal computer and docketing system, photocopier, and fax machine. 7. Typing of 45 wpm. 8. Must have legible cursive and printing. 9. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Education and Experience: Previous clerical and data entry experience demanding a high attention to detail is required.
