Supreme Court's Renewed Interest in IP
In 2006 and 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court chose to review a number of high profile patent-related cases addressing a variety of issues, including patent licenses, declaratory judgment jurisdiction, damages and obviousness. Intellectual property specialists expected the cases to have a dramatic impact on patent practice, and the decisions lived up to the hype. Panelists will discuss how decisions in MedImmune, KSR, Microsoft and other cases have affected intellectual property prosecution, enforcement and licensing, and what companies should be doing in response to these decisions.
