Join us March 1, 2007 to:
- Learn about this new proving ground for emerging research innovations;
- See demonstrations of the Evac-Pack, mobile sensing platforms, people counters and other technological prototypes;
- Discover opportunities for collaboration and product investment.
When
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger delivered his annual State of the State
address for 2007, he reiterated the need to invest in disaster
preparedness, including threats to public health. Coordination between
the state agencies with specific emergency preparedness and response
roles is critical to improving California's ability to respond to an
emergency. The Governor asked legislators to join him in tackling some
of California's most pressing challenges and at the top of his list was
disaster response technology.
Researchers at
Calit2@UCI are already one step ahead of the crisis. They are
partnering with industry, first-responders and government agencies to
develop smart spaces that utilize innovative technologies and offer
interoperability solutions.
